چکیده
Objective: Evaluate the effect of three types substrate and different shoot lengths onthe rooting Carica papaya L. shoots.Design/ methodology/ approach: This experiment followed a completely randomizeddesign with 2×3 factorial arrangement. Shoots 30 40 cm length werecollected in March 2018 from lateral branches plants (Carica L.)native to various regions Guerrero. were placed substrates: 1)sand, 2) Peat Moss®, 3) sand Moss® mixture (70:30, v/v). Sixty days afterplanting, percentage, root length, plant height, stem diameter, number leaves, crown biomass fresh weight, dry rootdry weight evaluated. Data analyzed through an analysis variance amean difference test (Tukey, p?0.05).Results: The 40- 30-cm shoots was 60 50%, respectively. Plantswith highest leaves, crown diameter derived 240-cm shoots. Sand best for rooting, where higher freshbiomass significantly developed.Study limitations/ implications: Continue study during flowering fruitingstages.Findings/ conclusions: protocol allows

The Medicinal Properties of the Papaya, Carica papaya L
Quite surprisingly, historians know little about Hippocrates, the physician often referred to as "the father of medicine". However, we do know that he was a strong advocate of the use of medicinal plants to prevent and cure diseases. He recorded between three hundred and four hundred plant remedies in his writing and during the middle ages herbal remedies were passed down from generation to gen...
متن کاملThe Vegetative and Reproductive Structure of Papaya (carica Papaya)i
Anatomical and morphological studies of tropical crop plants are widely scattered in journals and reference books. This literature is all too often inaccessible to students and researchers in the developing countries of the tropics. In addition, the structure of many crops has never been carefully studied. These factors present a significant constraint on the teaching of and research in tropica...
متن کاملCarica papaya MicroRNAs Are Responsive to Papaya meleira virus Infection
MicroRNAs are implicated in the response to biotic stresses. Papaya meleira virus (PMeV) is the causal agent of sticky disease, a commercially important pathology in papaya for which there are currently no resistant varieties. PMeV has a number of unusual features, such as residence in the laticifers of infected plants, and the response of the papaya to PMeV infection is not well understood. Th...
متن کاملCallus induction in papaya (Carica papaya L.) and synseed production for low temperature storage and cryopreservation
The midto long-term preservation of papaya (Carica papaya L.) would allow for the safeguarding of important germplasm. In this study, soft friable callus (SFC) and hard callus (HC) were induced from the first two true leaves of 10-day-old seedlings containing a midrib derived from the germinated seed of two cultivars (‘Rainbow’ and ‘Sunrise Solo’). Following germination on a Murashige and Skoog...
متن کاملPhysico-chemical characteristics of papaya (Carica papaya L.) seed oil of the Hong Kong/Sekaki variety.
A study was carried out to determine the physicochemical characteristics of the oil derived from papaya seeds of the Hong Kong/Sekaki variety. Proximate analysis showed that seeds of the Hong Kong/Sekaki variety contained considerable amount of oil (27.0%). The iodine value, saponification value, unsaponifiable matter and free fatty acid contents of freshly extracted papaya seed oil were 76.9 g...
